New Delhi. Zimbabwe has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20 series by defeating Afghanistan in a thrilling match. In the first T20 match of the series played at Harare Sports Club, the result came on the last ball. The host team achieved the target of 146 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Tashinga Musekiwa was the hero of this victory of Zimbabwe. Who batted intelligently in the last over and gave his/her team victory by 4 wickets on the last ball. Host Zimbabwe needed 11 runs from 6 balls. And his/her 6 wickets had fallen. But after this, Tashinga kept her nerves under control and played a match-winning inning in a breath-taking match.

When Zimbabwe team set out to chase the target, the foundation of its victory was laid by Brian Bennett and Dion Myers. Both made a partnership of 75 runs. Zimbabwe needed 11 runs from 6 balls to win. Tashinga Mushekiva hit a four on the very first ball of Azmatullah Omarzai’s over. After this, he/she kept the strike with two runs each on the second and third balls. Now Afghanistan needed 3 runs from 3 balls. No runs came on the fourth ball, while Tashinga created more excitement in the match by taking two runs on the fifth ball. Tashinga gave Zimbabwe a thrilling victory by taking one run on the last ball.

For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarwa took 3 wickets for 28 runs in his/her 4 overs. This match was not just a competition between runs and wickets but also showed the game play strategy and mental toughness of both the teams. Zimbabwe showed that they can bat well under pressure. Especially in the last moments of the match. On the other hand, Afghanistan showed that they know how to fight till the last moment. The highlight of his/her batting was his/her middle order batting. On the basis of which he/she scored a respectable score against Zimbabwe.
