New Delhi: BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut has defended Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and responded to the statement of Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath. In fact, Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati took a dig at Eknath Shinde and said that betrayal is considered one of the biggest sins in Hinduism and those who betray cannot be Hindus. he/she was referring to the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in 2022. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati had come to Mumbai on the invitation of Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. he/she said, ‘We are Hindus and followers of Sanatan Dharma which believes in ‘Punya’ and ‘Paap’, in which ‘betrayal’ is one of the biggest sins. The same thing happened here (in Maharashtra).’ Shankaracharya further said, ‘We told him/her (Uddhav Thackeray) how sad we are with the betrayal done with him/her. Our pain will not subside until he/she becomes the Chief Minister again.’

‘Hinduism does not accept this kind of betrayal’
he/she said the people of Maharashtra are also pained by that “betrayal” and this was proved in the results of the recent Lok Sabha elections in the state. The opposition INDIA alliance won 30 seats in the state – 21 more than last time, while the NDA could win only 17 seats, 20 less than last time. Shankaracharya said, “Betrayal cannot be tolerated. Toppling the government in the middle of its term and insulting public opinion is not acceptable. We have nothing to do with politics, but Hinduism does not accept such betrayal.”

Kangana Ranaut supports Eknath Shinde
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut openly came out in support of Eknath Shinde. She said, ‘If a politician does not do politics, will he/she sell Golgappas.’ The actress-turned-politician Kangana wrote on X, ‘Alliance, treaties and party splits are very common and constitutional in politics. The Congress party was split in 1907 and then again in 1971.’
