Anurag Kashyap said in an interview to YouTuber Janice Sequeira, ‘If I tell the truth, he/she (Abhay) will not even have the courage to show his/her face.’ Anurag was asked if he/she is bad at ‘maintaining relationships’? To this, he/she replied, ‘I am not bad at maintaining relationships. I have not met Abhay since the shooting of ‘Dev D’. he/she did not even come for promotions and he/she has never spoken to me since then.’

Anurag further says, ‘If he/she wants to call me toxic, then it is okay. This is his/her side of the story. But the truth cannot be told, because if I tell the truth, he/she will not be able to show his/her face. The celebrated director also discussed the casting of Pankaj Tripathi in Gangs of Wasseypur instead of Pankaj Jha without informing him/her. he/she said, “With Pankaj Jha, I don’t know what it is. It seems to be just a misunderstanding… It’s been a long time. All I remember is that Pankaj Jha had gone to the Osho Ashram and he/she was not into acting then. he/she was into painting. I wanted to cast him/her, but he/she disappeared. he/she was busy. I was making the film on a very tight budget, I had to bring someone in and Pankaj Tripathi was cast at the last minute. It’s a simple thing.”

Anurag further says, ‘I am now hearing that Pankaj Jha is upset after 14 years. Why is he/she upset after such a long time? he/she should have been upset then, no? I had this in my mind that Pankaj Jha is in Osho’s ashram. In a way, he/she had taken sanyaas, was painting. I did not know that he/she was still acting. he/she returned to acting with ‘Panchayat’. I do not know what happened to him/her in between. he/she never called me. I do not know why he/she is so upset.’
