IELTS score, SOP, passport…what are the documents required for study visa in Canada?

Canada Study Visa Documents: Like every year, this year too thousands of Indian students are going to study in Canada. Canadian universities are known for their excellent infrastructure and world-class education. Indian students require a study visa to study in Canada. You can come to Canada through a student visa as the government allows you to enter. This is one of the most important documents to study while going to Canada.
Study visa is given by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which people also call study permit. Now the question arises that what documents will be required to get a study visa for Canada. Let us know the answer to this question.

What documents are required for Canada study visa?

Letter of Acceptance: The most important document for a study visa is the Letter of Acceptance, which is received from the Canadian university which is giving you admission. This document is given when the university is ready for admission. This letter contains all the details of which course you have taken admission in and for how long your studies are going to continue.

Valid Passport: It is necessary to have a passport to study in Canada. Your passport should also be valid at the time of application. As per the rules of the High Commission of Canada, the validity of your passport should not be less than the period of your stay. If the passport is about to expire, get it renewed immediately. Failure to do so may result in the visa application being rejected.

Proof of having enough money: When applying for a study permit in Canada, students have to prove that they have enough money to study in the country. Students have to demonstrate that they have the money to pay tuition fees and living expenses in Canada. Proof can be provided through GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate), student loan, bank statement of last four months.

Passport size photo: Students also need two passport photographs to complete the offline application. For online application, a digital photograph of less than 4MB size is required. Your face should be clearly visible in the photo, the background should be plain and there should be no hat or scarf on the head (except for religious reasons).

Immigration Medical Examination (IME): Students going to study in Canada from India have to give Immigration Medical Examination. These tests are conducted by authorized panel physicians, taking into account Canadian immigration rules. This test should be done at least a week before applying for the visa.

English Language Test Score: Students going to study in Canada have to take an English language test. Admission is done only on the basis of score obtained through exams like IELTS or TOEFL. Although score is not required while applying for visa, but it is good if you already have this score.

Statement of Purpose: In the Statement of Purpose or Letter of Explanation, you have to write about your reason for coming to Canada and your responsibilities as a student. In this you also tell why you are studying a particular course. What benefit will you get from this?

Credit Card: If you are applying online, you will need a credit card. The application fee of 150 Canadian dollars for Canada Student Visa can only be paid by credit card, not debit card.

Additional Documents: During the visa interview, the interviewer may ask you for some additional documents. Such as, information about your academic records, test scores, plans to leave Canada after studies, and how you will cover study, living and travel expenses. Keep all these documents ready so that there is no problem during the interview.
