IDF issues fresh warning to Lebanese civilians as it targets Hezbollah activity

The situation in West Asia is continuously worsening. The IDF on Wednesday called on Lebanese civilians living in two dozen villages in southern Lebanon to immediately evacuate, a day after Iran targeted Israel with a rocket barrage.

“Hezbollah’s activity compels the IDF to take action against it. The IDF does not want to harm you. For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately. “Anyone who gets close to Hezbollah operatives, their facilities or their weapons puts themselves in danger,” the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesman, Colonel Avichai Adrai, said in a statement on Twitter.

The Israeli military says it will update civilians when they can return. On Tuesday, the Israeli military issued similar orders for 28 other villages in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military has described its ground operations in southern Lebanon as “limited, localized and targeted raids” aimed at destroying Hezbollah infrastructure in the border area.

Earlier, in a series of targeted air strikes, Israeli Air Force (IAF) fighter planes, under the precise guidance of the Intelligence Directorate, attacked several Hezbollah weapons production sites and terrorist infrastructure in Beirut.

According to a post by the Indian Air Force on its official X handle (formerly Twitter), several measures were taken to minimize harm to civilians, including advance warning to people in the affected areas. The statement highlighted Hezbollah’s practice of placing weapons under residential buildings, further endangering the civilian population.

“Under precise intelligence guidance from the Intelligence Division, Air Force combat aircraft carried out a series of targeted strikes in recent days against multiple munitions production sites throughout Beirut and other terrorist infrastructure in the area. Before the attack, a number of steps were taken to reduce the possibility of harm to those not involved, with advance warning given to the population of the area. The terrorist organization Hezbollah maintains its production sites and means of warfare, including residential buildings, in the center of Beirut, putting the area’s population at risk. The attacks were aimed at damaging the organization’s capabilities, and at this time the IDF continues to attack with force to damage and destroy Hezbollah’s military capabilities and infrastructure,” the Israeli Air Force said.

On Wednesday, following Tuesday’s Iranian attack against Israel, Chief of the General Staff LTG Herzi Halevi spoke with Gen. Michael Eric Kurilla, CENTCOM commander, about the current situation.

“The IDF and the US armed forces cooperated together in defense for several days before, during and after the Iranian attack,” the IDF said in a statement on Friday. The IDF expresses great appreciation for this cooperation and will continue to deepen its relationship with the U.S. armed forces, given our commitment to regional stability and strengthening coordination between forces.

This military action has been taken in response to the recent ballistic missile attack by Iran on Israel, which has increased tension in the region.

Meanwhile, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid said that Israel will be victorious with its capabilities.

“The morning after Iran’s massive attack, there is something that must be clear to our enemies: Israel will be victorious. With the strength of our military capabilities, our defense industries, the support of our allies, and especially our incredible people – we know that even when the costs are high, we will prevail. Iran will have to pay a big and heavy price for last night’s attack. Tehran knows Israel is coming. The response must be tough and it must send a clear message to the terrorist axis in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza and Iran,” Lapid said in a series of posts on X.
