PM Modi was on a visit to America on June 22, 2023.

What is Nijjar’s connection in the charge sheet?

According to the indictment, there is a connection between the conspiracy to murder an American Sikh separatist and the murder of another Sikh separatist, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, in Canada around the same time. On June 18, 2023, a few days before the PM’s visit, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead by a masked gunman outside a Sikh Gurudwara in British Columbia, Canada. The charge sheet says that on June 19, 2023, a day after Nijjar’s murder, Gupta told the undercover agent i.e. the hitman that “Nijjar was also a target, and we have many targets.”

The charge sheet says that the same day, Yadav sent a message to Gupta saying there was no need to wait. On June 20, Yadav sent Gupta a news article related to the victim.
