ICC team is reaching Pakistan, Champions Trophy schedule will be discussed

Karachi. A big update has come out regarding the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in Pakistan. According to the information, a delegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is going to visit Pakistan this month to review the preparations for the tournament. Here this delegation will also discuss the possible schedule of the Champions Trophy with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The ICC Champions Trophy is to be held in Pakistan but no decision has been taken yet on the Indian team’s visit. The tournament is expected to be played in a hybrid model. Meanwhile, an ICC team is arriving in Pakistan to take stock of the tournament’s organization. A source familiar with the matter said that the PCB has not yet been informed how many officials are coming. Which department they will represent but there are indications that the program will be discussed in detail.

The schedule of Champions Trophy will be discussed

The PCB had sent a tentative schedule to the ICC some time back in which they had suggested keeping the Indian team in Lahore. The source said, “The boards of the countries participating in the Champions Trophy would have seen the schedule by now and some work needs to be done before finalizing and announcing it. The final decision on whether the Indian team will be allowed by their government to play in Pakistan or not is the main reason for the schedule not being finalized till now.”

The ICC delegation will inspect the development work going on at the Champions Trophy venues in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, as well as meet with security officials and review broadcasting arrangements, team hotels and travel schedules. Due to the appointment of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah as ICC chairman from December 1, the source said that the schedule of the Champions Trophy will be released late like the World Cup held in India last year.
