ICC has stopped Pakistan’s wisdom, obey otherwise Champions Trophy…

Dubai. Pakistan Cricket Board’s Akal International Cricket Council has decided to set up bases. BCCI has received the green signal from all the tournament playing countries including the ICC to conduct the Champions Trophy in the hybrid model. The ICC has adopted a tough stance on the stubborn stand of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the organization of the Champions Trophy. The board has said that they should either adopt the hybrid model or be ready to withdraw from this competition.

The PCB, in the emergency meeting of the ICC Executive Board in Dubai on Friday, had clearly refused to host the Champions Trophy according to the hybrid model. The purpose of the emergency meeting was to decide the outline of the program in February-March next year. Despite India refusing to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns, the PCB once again rejected the ‘hybrid’ model. After which consensus could not be reached.

It is understood that most of the ICC Board members were sympathetic to Pakistan’s position. PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi was nevertheless advised to accept the hybrid model as the only solution to the ongoing dispute. If the hybrid model is adopted, India will play in the UAE in its Champions Trophy final.

An ICC board source said, “No broadcaster will pay money for any ICC tournament in which India is not involved. Pakistan knows this very well. The ICC meeting will be held on Saturday only after Pakistan agrees on the hybrid model. If Pakistan does not accept the hybrid model then the Champions Trophy can be organized in another country. Pakistan will not be included in it.
