ICC did not listen to Siraj and gave severe punishment, Travis Head got away even by ‘abusing’, for the first time in 24 months…

New Delhi. During the Test match played between India and Australia in Adelaide, there was a heated argument between Mohammad Siraj and Travis Head. According to Siraj, it started with Travis Head abusing him/her, after which he/she signaled the Australian batsman to return to the pavilion. This was clearly visible in the TV replays also. This matter also reached the match referee Ranjan Madugalle, who gave severe punishment to Siraj and released Travis Head lightly. Along with giving demerit points, Siraj was fined 20 percent of the match fee. Head escaped fine.

ICC on Monday informed about the punishment of Mohammad Siraj and Travis Head. According to this, the on-field umpires had complained about the behavior of Mohammad Siraj and Travis Head. After this, the Sri Lankan match referee heard the entire matter. he/she held Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head guilty of violating the ICC code of conduct. This whole matter is of the 82nd over of Australia’s innings. When Siraj bowled the head, he/she abused the Indian bowler before returning to the pavilion. In response, Siraj also signaled him/her with both hands to go out.

Siraj claims- Travis Head abused
According to the ICC statement, ‘Siraj was found guilty of using obscene language or gestures that are likely to provoke an aggressive response from the batsman.’ Travis Head was found guilty of violating rules relating to ‘player misconduct’. However, he/she escaped the fine. Siraj had also said in a conversation with Harbhajan Singh after the match that earlier he/she was just celebrating taking the wicket. Then Travis Head abused him/her, only after which he/she signaled the Australian batsman to go out.

One demerit point added to both accounts
One demerit point each has also been added to the records of both Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head. This was the first offense of both the players in the last 24 months. According to the ICC, ‘Both have accepted their mistake and the punishment given by the match referee.
