ICC considered the next Sachin, his/her career like Kambli was ruined in 5 years

New Delhi. Prithvi Shaw, who made a spectacular Test debut for the Indian cricket team, was not bought by any team in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction. The career of the player who was once described by the ICC as the next Sachin Tendulkar, seems to be completely ruined today. Prithvi was dropped from the Mumbai Ranji team. The team did not retain in IPL and remained unsold.

Monday (November 25) must have been a difficult day for Prithvi as he/she did not find any buyer in the big IPL auction in Jeddah. Prithvi, the captain of India’s 2018 Under-19 World Cup winning team, was being seen as the next star of Indian cricket. After scoring a century on his/her Test debut six years ago, expectations from him/her had increased. The International Cricket Council had made a complete video about him/her titled Prithvi Shaw…Next Sachin Tendulkar.

his/her name came up twice in the IPL mega auction and despite the base price of Rs 75 lakh, not a single bid was placed for him/her. Sourav Ganguly was on one table, Rahul Dravid was on the other. Ashish Nehra, Parthiv Patel, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting, Stephen Fleming and Daniel Vettori were also interested in bidding but no one was interested in Prithvi.

Situation like Sachin to Kambli in just 5 years

Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli made a name together in Indian cricket. By scoring huge runs in domestic cricket, both of them traveled to Team India. Sachin gave everything to discipline and cricket, whereas Kambli started paying more attention to things other than sports and ruined his/her shining career.

Prithvi Shaw’s condition also looks similar. After making a place in the Indian team, he/she was dropped from the team due to discipline and other things. Now he/she is not able to make a place even in the Ranji team.
