‘IC 814 series has half a dozen faults, dangerous things inside’, real cabin crew told everything

The show ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ released on Netflix has been surrounded by controversy as soon as it was released. Along with this, Anil Sharma, the cabin crew chief of the plane hijacked in 1999, has pointed out a big mistake in ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’. It is said that this series is based on his/her own book written on this incident.

Director Anubhav Sinha’s series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ has been surrounded by a big controversy as soon as it was released on Netflix. It is being said that the real names of the hijackers have been hidden in this show based on a real incident. Seeing the controversy growing over this, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the Government of India called Netflix India’s content chief Monica Shergill to Delhi. After this, after a meeting in the ministry, the disclaimer of ‘IC 814’ was updated with the real names of the hijackers.

Information has also been taken from Anil Sharma’s book

However, the controversy related to this show is still going on but now Anil Sharma, who was the cabin crew chief of that hijacked plane, has pointed out a big mistake in this Netflix show. Let us tell you that one of the two books from which the makers have taken reference for the story of this series is Anil Sharma’s book ‘IA’s Terror Trail’.

called the show ‘frustrating’ and ‘funny’

In a conversation with Barkha Dutt, Anil expressed his/her disapproval of the series ‘IC 814’. he/she called the show ‘disappointing’ and ‘funny’ and said that after watching the series, people who have gone through that knee are getting very angry and it is justified.

Said- a lot of dangerous things were happening inside there

Anil Sharma further said in this conversation, ‘There are people who are praising Anubhav Sinha and it is true that he/she understands his/her craft very well, but I have a complaint with him/her that if he/she understands his/her craft so well then why was there a need to change the things that happened in reality. In that incident, the major action happened inside the cabin. A lot of dangerous things were happening inside, but they have not been dealt with that much sensitivity. There are not as many details in it as there really should have been.’

‘he/she was hit on the back of the head, his/her hair was pulled out’

Anil was asked what was the one thing that he/she found to be a blatant lie in the show? he/she said, ‘I can list at least half a dozen flaws in this show, but for now I will tell you one. In this they showed that the air hostess was slapped by the hijackers. The only person in the crew on whom they raised their hands was our most junior flight person Mr. Satish. he/she was hit on the back of the head, his/her hair was pulled, he/she was pushed on the chair. The hijackers thought they could do this to him/her.’

“he/she didn’t push the girls at all”

Anil Sharma further said, ‘They did not manhandle the girls at all, not even me. However, there was a time when they searched me thoroughly, you can say there was no part of my body that they did not search. I was surprised how the makers could show this (assault on the crew) happening in a flight.’

‘As a nation we were brought to our knees’

Let us tell you that this series is being opposed on social media as soon as it is released. People say that terrorism and terrorists have been shown very lightly in this show, on this Anil said that this incident brought us to our knees as a country and it can be debated that the government failed or could not do anything, but it is not right to show it like this.

The Indian team that went to negotiate has been shown in a wrong light

he/she also said that he/she does not agree with the way the team that negotiated with the hijackers and the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were shown in ‘IC 814’. he/she said that the way the Indian team that went to negotiate was shown in the show, in real life they were much more serious than that. This series ‘IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack’ was released on Netflix on 29 August.
