IISER: High Quality Research Education base
The Government of India opened IISER to promote science and research in the country. These are autonomous institutions under the Ministry of Education, which are pulling young talent through their high quality education. Many students get out of here and find a place in the top institutions abroad for higher higher research education.
IISERs across the country focusing on UG, PG and PhD courses- preparing scientists and researchers who can solve the complex challenges of the modern world. Seven such institutes have been opened across the country, of which IISER Pune is the oldest.
Which course in which IISER?
7 IISER is in Barhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati, who focus on inter-disciplinary education. B.Tech, BS, MS, BS-MS Dual Degree Programs are taught in these institutes. For example-
- 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree Program for Science Students- All Campus
- BS-MS Dual Degree- IISER Kolkata in Computational and Data Science
- B.Tech, BS-Economic Science and BS-Economic Sciences-IISER Bhopal
- BS-Economic and Statistical Sciences Course- IISER Tirupati
- Four-year-old B.Tech Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science option- IISER Bhopal
What is IAT?
For admission in IISER it is necessary to give IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). The entrance (IAT2025) for admission to all the courses of all 7 institutions will be held on 25 May 2025 across the country. Merit of this entrance will be seen for five-year BS-MS (Dual Program), four-year-old BTech and BS degree programs. Online forms of IAT are being filled right now and by 15 April 2025, applicants can apply online by visiting the website Iisradmission.in. Admit cards will be issued on 15 May. After the result, the counseling process will be online.
Earlier, admissions in IISER were based on JEE Advanced Entrance. From last year, the institute started IAT focusing on the ant. Students who have studied three of Class 12 Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Chemistry, they can apply for it.
IAT from IISC, IIT also admission
Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bengaluru) will admit the same entrance for its BSC Research Program and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras BS-Medical Sciences and Engineering Program.
