Previous Chief Secretary of Jharkhand L. After the completion of Khiangte’s tenure on October 31, Alka Tiwari has been made the new Chief Secretary. During the assembly elections, L. A request was made to extend Khiangte’s tenure by 3 months, but no order was issued before his/her retirement. 1988 batch IAS L Khiangte had held the post of Chief Secretary for about 11 months.

Alka Tiwari, a brilliant student, had received a gold medal from the Governor for being the best student from Meerut University. he/she earned a post graduation degree in psychology.

After this, M.Sc. from Manchester University, United Kingdom. Received education. Here also he/she received the Gold Medal for his/her excellent performance in ‘Management and Implementation of Development Projects’.

She was the District Collector in Gumla and Lohardaga. he/she has also served as secretary in several departments such as Forest and Environment and Commercial Tax. he/she played a key role in planning to transform India’s higher education regulatory system. She also served at NITI Aayog, where she oversaw important areas such as tourism, education and financial resources.
