New Delhi: PM Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time on Sunday. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has taken a jibe at Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. Tharoor said that instead of attending the ceremony, he/she will watch the India-Pakistan match because he/she was not invited. Tharoor said, ‘I have not been invited to the swearing-in ceremony, so I will watch the India vs Pakistan match.’

What did Shashi Tharoor say about the swearing-in ceremony?
Let us tell you that the match between India and Pakistan will be played on Sunday, June 9. This match will be at 8 pm. Modi’s swearing-in ceremony will also take place on the same day, the timing of which is 7:15 pm. Prime Minister Modi is preparing to take oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, so many leaders and heads of state of neighboring countries have been invited as special guests.

These foreign guests will be included
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, ‘President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Maldives Mohammed Muizzu, Vice President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay have accepted the invitation to attend.’

Muizzu’s invitation was accepted with importance
Speaking about India-Maldives relations, Tharoor acknowledged the importance of inviting Maldives despite recent controversies and expressed confidence in a possible meeting between Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu and Prime Minister Modi after the ceremony. he/she also said that India has invited its neighbouring countries except Pakistan, which gives a signal.

Tharoor also spoke about Pakistan
he/she said, ‘It is good that Maldives is at least trying to come here and talk. They have not been particularly friendly towards our interests for some time. This is the first time the President is coming here. I am assuming that this visit will be taken advantage of for some other meetings as well.’ The Congress MP said, ‘This is a good tradition which started at the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi. But this time there is one less tradition. They have not invited Pakistan. So, this is also a signal.’
