I have become old… nobody will be able to afford it… why did Veeru say that


New Delhi. Former explosive opener of Indian cricket team Virender Sehwag says that he/she has grown old. During a program, he/she pointed towards the franchise owners and said that none of them can afford him/her. Sehwag said this on the occasion of the launch of Delhi T20 Premier League. Sehwag said that with the advent of T20 league, the youth will get a chance to show their talent and by performing well here, they can make a place in the national team. Sehwag, who is called ‘Sultan of Multan’, said that when he/she was 18 years old, there was no league like IPL.

On the occasion of the launch of Delhi Premier T20 League, Virender Sehwag answered many questions frankly. When Veeru was asked if he/she would be seen coaching a team in this league, he/she said that he/she has grown old. According to Sehwag, ‘I have grown old. I will not be able to play in this league. I am here because I am a part of this launched team. I don’t think any of them will be able to afford me.’

6 teams will participate
The 6 teams participating in the Delhi T20 Premier League are Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, North Delhi Strikers, Old Delhi 6, South Delhi Superstars and West Delhi Lions. When Sehwag was asked if the organization of too many T20 leagues is driving the youth away from the red ball format, he/she said, ‘Look, my elder son is 17 years old and he/she has played three-day cricket for Delhi Under 16, but there are many boys who must be waiting for that opportunity. When we were 18 years old, there was no IPL. But, now, a youth can think of playing IPL, and DPL will provide you that opportunity.’

The winning team will get a prize money of Rs 1 crore
Rishabh Pant will be the biggest attraction in this league if he/she manages to play some matches based on his/her availability. Other big names included in it are Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini and Ayush Badoni. Players have been divided into 4 categories for the league in which the salary of each player in the Marquee A group will be Rs 10 lakh. The winning team will get a prize money of Rs 1 crore.
