I have a hunger to learn, the bowler reacted after taking 9 wickets

New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Akash Deep is very happy after taking 9 wickets in the match. he/she says that after taking so many wickets, it is natural for any bowler to be happy but despite this, he/she is focusing on those things in which he/she has scope for improvement. Akash bowled brilliantly for India A against India B in the first round match of Duleep Trophy. he/she took 4 wickets for 60 runs in the first innings and 5 wickets for 56 runs in the second innings.

Akash Deep said after the match, ‘If you get satisfied as a cricketer, you will never learn anything. As long as I have the hunger to learn, I can never be satisfied. Wickets and results are two different things. Sometimes you will get results, sometimes not. But, the most important thing is the process… like while bowling, what are the areas that can still be improved.’ Akash, who made his/her Test debut against England in Ranchi earlier this year, has returned to the red ball format after a long gap. The Bengal player said that he/she was preparing for the season in his/her own way.

I have been practising for the last month
Akash Deep said, ‘After my debut for India in Ranchi and the IPL, I did not play any competitive match. It is difficult to play matches as a fast bowler after such a long gap, but I have been practicing since last month. We were playing practice matches as real matches. So, our mindset was to get our muscles used to that kind of bowling and it helped me a lot.’

India has to play 10 Tests this season and Akash’s performance in the Duleep Trophy has certainly put him/her as a strong option for the third fast bowler after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. Akash, however, is focusing on the present without thinking much about the future. he/she said, ‘I consider every match I play as my last match. I don’t think too far ahead. I only think about the present.’
