Jaiswal gives full credit for his/her success to himself, but behind every successful person someone plays a supporting role. For Jaiswal, this role was played by his/her family, especially his/her elder brother Tejashwi Jaiswal.

Tejashwi sacrificed his/her life for his/her younger brother
Yashasvi’s elder brother Tejashwi came into limelight when he/she scored a half-century while playing for Tripura in his/her first Ranji season. This innings was special because it is his/her first first class fifty. It was even more special because a few years ago he/she had not even thought about it.

Tejashwi also wanted to become a cricketer like Yashasvi, but he/she gave up his/her dream for his/her younger brother. Jaiswal Bhai had come to Mumbai to fulfill his/her dream of wearing Team India’s jersey but it was difficult for him/her to face the challenges of survival in this city of dreams. One of them had to take the responsibility of the family and Tejashwi took this responsibility on his/her shoulders. At the age of 17, Tejashwi left cricket and started working as a salesman in Delhi. he/she used to send pocket money to Yashasvi and also got his/her sisters married.

Left cricket for family

Speaking to Indian Express, Tejashwi said, “I also wanted to play cricket, but the financial condition of our family was not good. Yashasvi was doing well… so by the end of 2013, I left Mumbai and cricket and moved to Delhi, where a relative has a shop,”

Apart from financial troubles, Tejashwi was also accused of age fraud, which further dented his/her cricket career hopes. Tejashwi said, “I played a match in Harris Shield and took seven wickets. Then people started saying that there is a problem in my age verification. I was put on the bench for one and a half years. Yashasvi was doing very well and I did not want his/her chances to be affected because of me. Anyway, Mumbai was too expensive for both of us. It was becoming difficult for us to even eat twice a day. “At that time, Jwala sir had not met Yashasvi’s coach.”
