We were wondering how to illuminate it. I made a round of set from the banks of the lake and asked my assistant to put 100 watts of bulb finally. In this way we started illuminating the set. They say that I used all the generators available in Mumbai for that set.

Pradhan said that since all the generators were with him/her, they had to postpone many marriages in Mumbai. The cinematographer said, ‘This was such a big area that we had to use so many generators. he/she used to say that so many marriages were canceled due to Binod ji because there were no generators to use in weddings.

‘Devdas’ was a film made in a budget of about Rs 50 crore. At that time it was said to be the most expensive Indian film. After the premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, it was released worldwide in July 2002. The film was a blockbuster and grossed around Rs 168 crore worldwide.
