New Delhi : In the results of the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has performed well in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, the party’s performance in Rajasthan has not been as expected. In such a situation, the Chief Ministers of the respective states have played an important role in the performance of BJP. In this role, Madhya Pradesh’s new CM Dr. Mohan Yadav has performed better than expected. The party has done a clean sweep on 29 seats in the state. This also includes Congress’s traditional Chhindwara seat. Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh’s new CM Vishnu Dev Sai, the party has won 10 out of 11 seats in the state. At the same time, the party managed to win 25 out of 26 seats in Gujarat. In Uttarakhand too, the party won all 5 seats. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami performed well. The party suffered the biggest setback in UP.

Madhya Pradesh won by 29-0

BJP won all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh including Chhindwara. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav addressed more than 180 public meetings in the state. Along with this, he/she did about 58 road shows. After winning the assembly elections held in November 2023, the party chose Dr. Mohan Yadav as the Chief Minister in place of Shivraj Singh Chouhan. After the assembly elections, there was pressure on Mohan Yadav to repeat the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha. Mohan Yadav did his/her job well. Madhya Pradesh has been a strong fort for BJP in the last three Lok Sabha elections. In 2014, BJP won 27 out of 29 seats. At the same time, in the last election also, BJP won 28 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

BJP’s excellent performance continued in Chhattisgarh. The party improved its performance of 2019 here. This time the party won 10 out of 11 seats in the state. State CM Vishnu Dev Sai has played an important role in the party’s victory. Under the leadership of Sai, the party snatched the Bastar seat from the Congress and won all five reserved Lok Sabha seats in the state. Out of the total 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state, Bastar, Kanker, Raigarh and Surguja are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category and Janjgir-Champa is reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. BJP had won 10 out of 11 seats in the 2004, 2009 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the state. In 2019, Congress was successful in winning two out of 11 seats. One of them was ST reserved seat Bastar. BJP has traditionally performed well on reserved seats in the Lok Sabha elections since the formation of the state in the year 2000.

BJP’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan was not as expected. The party won 14 out of 25 seats. The party could not repeat its performance in the assembly elections held in November last year. BJP had performed well in the last two general elections in Rajasthan. The party had won all 25 seats in the state in 2014. In the last general election, the party had succeeded in winning 24 seats. This time Congress snatched 8 seats from BJP. Other components of India Dal were successful in winning three seats. In such a situation, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma failed in ensuring a better performance of the party.
