How voice gets copied in voice changing app, stay away from Madhya Pradesh incident

New Delhi : A case of luring and raping 7 to 8 girls by changing their voices has come to light in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused in this case is a 30-year-old man, Brajesh Prajapati. This person used a voice changing app to pose as a female college professor. The accused used to lure girl students with scholarships by changing his/her voice. After this, he/she would call them to a deserted place and commit the rape. The accused had made 6 to seven girls his/her victims in this way.

How does the app change the voice?

Changing the voice has become very easy through modern technology. There are many online tools and apps available for this. These apps or tools function by manipulating the input audio signal, usually a voice recording. Advanced algorithms are used to modify the qualities of the voice. This allows for changes in sound ranging from slight adjustments to dramatic changes. For example, changing a male voice to a female voice or adding unique sound effects. Using a voice changer app, you can not only change the pitch and tone of your voice but also make it sound like another gender.

The most common scams involve someone impersonating a family member, friend, or customer service representative.

  • Be wary of urgent requests for money or personal information
  • If you find such activity suspicious, report it to the police immediately.
