A pregnant woman travelling in a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus experienced labour pains and delivered a baby with the help of a female bus conductor and a nurse. According to a TOI report, the pregnant woman was travelling to Wanaparthy by bus to celebrate Rakshabandhan when she suddenly experienced labour pains.

This is not the first case. Earlier also such cases have come to light where women made news for giving birth to a child in a public place, in a train, or in a flight. In such a situation, the question is how safe is the delivery of a child outside the hospital, is home birth safe. Let’s know.

If the pregnant woman has problems of high blood pressure, diabetes, high BMI, then also home birth should be avoided.
