How Rohit and company became world champions, Dravid revealed his/her secret


Mumbai Outgoing Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid has revealed the secret plan to win the T20 World Cup 2024. Dravid says that he/she did not make many changes in Team India during his/her tenure. Because he/she does not like all this. Dravid’s tenure with Team India as a coach was this T20 World Cup. Although before this his/her tenure ended after the ODI World Cup last year, but due to Rohit Sharma he/she extended his/her contract. Dravid repeatedly mentions that because of Rohit he/she is the coach of the T20 World Cup winning team today. Because Rohit called him/her and requested him/her to remain on the post of coach. Dravid agreed to Rohit. Dravid says that he/she has always played the role of Rohit’s assistant in Team India.

With India’s victory over South Africa (IND vs SA) in the T20 World Cup final, Rahul Dravid’s tenure as head coach also ended. Dravid said in a video released by the BCCI, ‘I am actually a person who likes continuity. I don’t like to chop and change too much because I believe it creates a lot of instability and doesn’t create a very good environment. I feel I am part of the team whose responsibility is to create the right professional, safe, protected environment in which there is really no fear of failure, but there are enough challenges to push people forward. This has always been my endeavor.’

I had to work with five-six captains in 8-10 months
Rahul Dravid said that when the players came out after the COVID-19 pandemic, it was a difficult phase and he/she never thought that he/she would have to work with half a dozen captains. he/she said, ‘In the initial phase of my coaching, we were coming out of the restrictions of COVID. We had to manage the workload in all three formats. Some players were injured and due to this I had to work with five-six captains in 8-10 months.’

‘I did not imagine this’
Dravid said, ‘This was something I had not imagined or thought about but it happened naturally. Under Dravid’s coaching, India defeated England in a five-Test series and the team reached the final of the ODI World Cup. According to Dravid, ‘The positive thing after the restrictions of Kovid were lifted was that we played a lot of cricket. In the last two and a half years, we have given opportunities to many young players especially in limited overs cricket. In the last some time, we have also given opportunities to some young players in Test cricket.’

“This is something I will miss.”
Dravid has known captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for a long time. Both of them made their international debut when he/she was at the end of his/her career. he/she said, ‘I really enjoyed working with Rohit whom I knew for a long time. I saw him/her mature as a person and a captain. I really liked his/her commitment to the team and his/her caring nature. he/she created an atmosphere in the team that made everyone feel safe. This is something I will miss.’
