The Army Chief said that the situation in the North-East is gradually improving. Talking about Manipur, Upendra Dwivedi said that the situation there has come under control due to the efforts of the security forces. he/she said that although some incidents of violence are taking place from time to time, we are working to establish peace in the area.

Various NGOs and our brave soldiers are reaching out to community leaders so that some kind of reconciliation can be achieved.

The Army Chief further said that surveillance and security on the India-Myanmar border has been further strengthened. This step is our effort to stop the spread of the unrest currently taking place in Myanmar. Based on the experience gained in 2024 as far as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief is concerned, we have earmarked Rs 17 crore specifically for upgrading our QRT and QR medical teams.
