How much have relationships improved? S Jaishankar will speak in Parliament today on border dispute and latest relations with China.

New Delhi:Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will give information on the latest developments in India-China relations in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Also, many other Union Ministers will give statements on various issues in both the Houses of Parliament. All this is happening after the withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops from the two confrontation points in Demchok and Depsang plains in eastern Ladakh. The Indian Army has started verification patrolling in Depsang, while patrolling in Demchok had started on 1 November.

Jaishankar will answer on China in Rajya Sabha

The winter session of Parliament is going on. During this period, the proceedings had to be postponed several times due to protests by Congress and other opposition MPs. The opposition is protesting on many issues. Meanwhile, the government is preparing to do many important works. External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar will brief Parliament on relations with China. Indian and Chinese troops have withdrawn from Demchok and Depsang plains in eastern Ladakh. After this, Jaishankar will inform the Parliament about the entire situation. Indian Army has started patrolling in Depsang. Patrolling in Demchok has started from 1 November itself.The deadlock was going on since 2020
India and China had made a big announcement in October amid the border dispute. The purpose of this announcement was to end the tense situation that had been going on since the conflict in Galwan Valley in 2020. At that time, the armies of both the countries had deployed a large number of soldiers, military structures and temporary posts on the border. Beijing said the two countries have reached a solution on related matters. China said it would work closely with New Delhi to implement the terms of the agreement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping had held bilateral discussions during the BRICS summit in Kazan in October. Both the leaders had instructed the officials of their respective countries to take the discussion forward at many levels.
