How long will the fog last? Impact visible from road to sky in Delhi, smoke all over North India

New Delhi: Along with severe cold, dense fog continues to wreak havoc across North India including the country’s capital Delhi. There was dense fog in Delhi on Saturday morning. Air and rail services were affected due to low visibility. The temperature was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius at 7:30 am. Cold wave continues in entire North India including Delhi. The temperature has dropped. Dense fog is present in many states. Many flights were affected at IGI Airport in Delhi. At the same time, 47 trains were delayed at New Delhi Railway Station. Maha Kumbh Mela is also being organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh amidst dense fog. Light to moderate snowfall occurred in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh. Light rain also occurred in some areas. The mercury remained between 1-5 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state. IMD has warned of cold wave in some areas of Himachal during January 17-19.

This state is in the grip of fog

IMD said in its weather bulletin that dense to very dense fog may occur in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on January 18 and in Chandigarh on January 19. There will be dense fog in East Rajasthan also on January 18. IMD said there will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over northwest India during the next 48 hours. After this it will gradually increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Chance of rain on 22-23 January

IMD has predicted fog to continue in Delhi and North India for the next few days. Also, there is a possibility of rain on 22-23 January. Many trains and flights are running late due to fog. IMD has predicted cold wave and fog conditions to persist for the next few days.
