How did this thing happen between India and China before PM Modi went to Russia? Know the complete inside story

New Delhi: The tension between India and China seems to be reducing. After several rounds of talks between India and China, a definite arrangement for patrolling along the Line of Actual Control has finally been agreed upon between the two countries. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Monday said Indian and Chinese negotiators have reached an agreement for patrolling along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The announcement of this major development has come a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Russian city of Kazan to attend the BRICS summit. It is also believed that Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping can hold a bilateral meeting during the BRICS summit. At the same time, Russia’s statement in this entire episode is also considered very important.

The matter of 75 percent changed to 100 percent!

The agreement that India and China seem to be reaching can also be understood from the statement given by Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar a few days ago. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said in New York last month that 75 per cent progress has been made in the India-China border dispute, which pertains to the withdrawal of troops in eastern Ladakh. S Jaishankar had also said that talks are going on and there is a need to reduce tension. India-China relations will influence the future of Asia and the world. In this program, Jaishankar stressed, I think India-China relations are the key to the future of Asia. India’s relationship with China will affect not only the future of Asia, but thus perhaps the future of the world.Putin wants to give a special message
Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to host many leaders from around the world including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian. All these leaders will be in the Russian city of Kazan for the summit of the BRICS group. At the same time, the possibility of the Russian President being isolated due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the international arrest warrant against Putin would seem to be ruled out. The purpose of ‘BRICS’, a group of developing countries, is to balance the Western-led global order. It initially included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa but expanded rapidly this year. Putin is trying to send a message to the western countries through this summit.

Russia-India and China, what is its message?

Just before the BRICS summit, Russia’s Foreign Minister made a big statement. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said about the triumvirate of Russia-India-China that these countries have not met formally for some years but even today they maintain strong relations. Lavrov said that due to Covid and some other reasons, the meeting could not take place between these countries. The Russian Foreign Minister said that till the 90s there were regular meetings between the three countries. Later it expanded and BRICS emerged. Four more new countries joined it in January 2024.

Russia is once again moving in this direction
When there was tension between the two countries in Doklam between India and China, Russia played an important role in reducing that deadlock. At the same time, after the violent clash between the armies of the two countries in Galvan three years ago, India and China had held several rounds of talks, but no consensus was reached between them to end the tension. Before the BRICS summit, the agreement between the two countries will be assessed in many ways. At the same time, through this conference, Russia will demonstrate that it is indeed an important player who is leading such a new group. In this summit, Russia can talk about increasing trade with important countries like India and China and bypassing Western sanctions.
