Iran News: At least seven people were killed and five others were injured when three residential buildings collapsed after an explosion in Iran’s Tabriz city on Sunday. According to Xinhua news agency, the explosion occurred in a two-storey building at around 3 am (local time).
“The building and two adjacent buildings were completely destroyed by the impact of the explosion,” Xinhua quoted Mohammad Baqer Honarbar, director general of the Crisis Management Organization of East Azerbaijan Province, as saying. The blast also damaged several buildings in the vicinity, with windows shattered, he/she said. Fars news agency reported that authorities were investigating the cause of the explosion, adding that two of the injured had been hospitalised. IRNA said one person was pulled alive from the rubble. Rescue operation is on.
