Honey Singh called ‘Bidi Jalaile’ anti-women, also spoke on ‘Choli ke Peeche Kya Hai’

These days rapper and singer Honey Singh is in news. Less for his/her songs, more for his/her statements. After speaking about Badshah and Raftar, he/she has now taken a dig at the songs of veteran Gulzar sahab. he/she has called the singer’s song ‘Bidi Jalaile’ ‘anti-women’. In an interview, Honey Singh has reacted to the question of objections being raised on his/her songs. The film ‘Omkara’ was released in the year 2006. Bipasha Basu’s song ‘Bidi Jalaile’ was in it, about which Honey Singh has given his/her reaction in a conversation with ‘ETimes’. Regarding the questions being raised on the lyrics of his/her songs, he/she said, ‘It does not matter to me at all, but I feel that I should answer it. Gulzar sahab is writing ‘Bidi Jalaile jigar se piya, jigar mein badi aag hai, jigar kahan hota hai aurat ka? This is anti-women for me.’

Honey Singh further said about the other lines of the same song, ‘Jubaan pe laga namak ishq ka, why are they talking about the woman’s tongue here? Why am I the only one wrong? I did not speak earlier, today I am speaking these things. If I did not answer earlier, people used to say that she is an easy target. Speak about this.’

Honey Singh reacts to ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’

Honey Singh further shared his/her thoughts on whether he/she feels that his/her songs portray women in a bad light. The singer said, ‘I don’t portray women in a bad light. It doesn’t happen like this. There were all kinds of songs in the past. They were taken as songs. I don’t even talk about controversial songs like ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’. But why is only Honey Singh abused and you call him/her a legend? he/she is becoming modern, but he/she also has a backward mindset.’
