HNLMS Tromp of Royal Netherlands Navy joins maritime partnership exercise with Indian Navy




To strengthen defense ties between the two countries, Royal Netherlands Navy ship HNLMS Tromp joined the Indian Navy’s guided missile frigate INS Trishul in a maritime partnership exercise, the Defense Ministry said in an official statement on Monday.

The exercise included tactical manoeuvres, helicopter operations and replenishment on sea routes, facilitating exchange of expertise and experiences between the two navies.

The exercise was conducted as Rear Admiral Harold Liebreggs, Deputy Commander of the Royal Netherlands Navy, recently embarked on an official visit to Mumbai from 23 to 28 April, onboard HNLMS Tromp, De Zeven Provinciaan Class Frigate, Ministry of Defence. Coincided with the arrival. Said.

During his stay, Libriges discussed operational and technical matters of mutual interest with Vice Admiral SJ Singh, FOC-in-C, Western Naval Command.

The visiting Netherlands delegation was given an operational overview of the command and a tour of the Indian Navy’s latest guided missile destroyer. The visit also included professional and social interactions and sharing of best practices between the personnel of the two navies.
