By Rail:
Shimla’s railway station is part of the narrow gauge (Kalka-Shimla railway line) and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. First you will reach Kalka Railway Station (near Chandigarh). Kalka is connected to major cities of India. The distance from Kalka to Shimla is approximately 96 kilometers, and this journey can be done through toy train.
By Air:
The nearest airport to Shimla is Jubbarhatti Airport, which is about 22 kilometers from Shimla. Short flight facilities are available here from Delhi and Chandigarh. From Jubbarhatti Airport, Shimla can also be reached by taxi or cab. If flights to Jubbarhatti are not available, you can also use Chandigarh Airport (120 km away).
