High Court judge attended VHP conference, Owaisi raised questions on collegium, know the whole matter

New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has objected to the remarks of a High Court judge. The judge had reportedly said that the country would be run according to the wishes of the majority. Responding to this on Monday, Owaisi said that the Constitution of India expects judicial independence and impartiality. Owaisi also raised questions on the presence of the judge at a conference of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. he/she also mentioned the relations between VHP and RSS. Owaisi also said that this alleged statement of the judge also raises questions on the collegium system.

‘How can justice be expected from such a person?’

Owaisi asked how a minority party can expect justice from a person who attends VHP programs. Earlier on December 7 also, Owaisi had targeted the central government. he/she had expressed concern over the increase in petitions claiming that there were temples beneath many mosques.

‘VHP has been banned many times’

Owaisi wrote on A High Court judge attended the conference of such an organization. This speech can be easily refuted, but it is more important to remind the honorable judge that the Constitution of India requires judicial independence and impartiality.” Owaisi further said that impartiality, independence, sincerity and rationality are the hallmarks of the judiciary in the decision-making process.

Question raised on collegium system also

Owaisi further said, ‘The Constitution of India is not majoritarian but democratic. The rights of minorities are protected in democracy. As Ambedkar had said. he/she said, just as a king has no divine right to rule, similarly the majority also has no divine right to rule. Owaisi also raised questions on the collegium system on the alleged speech of the judge. he/she said, ‘This speech raises questions on the collegium system and judicial impartiality. How can a minority party expect justice from a person who participates in VHP programs?’
