There is direct rail link with Bangladesh
Explain that Howrah Junction is one of the largest and oldest railway stations in India. This station was built in 1854 by the East India Company. This railway station of the British era is still standing today. It was named after the city of Howrah. This is the only railway station in India, which has direct rail connectivity with Bangladesh. Howrah Junction was the center of revolutionaries-
Since, this railway station is associated with the British period. That’s why once this junction used to be the center of revolutionaries. During the freedom movement, his/her meetings and all the plans were prepared here. Famous freedom fighter Yogesh Chandra Chatterjee was arrested at Howrah station before the Kakori incident.
