Ganesh Raj Bansal won the election from Hanumangarh Assembly as an independent candidate. Although Ganesh Raj Bansal was associated with the Congress Party. Who was elected Chairman of the Municipal Council from Hanumangarh on behalf of Congress in 2019. He had demanded ticket in this assembly elections. But due to not getting ticket from Congress, he contested the election as an independent and won from BJP candidate by 9668 votes.
