he/she told the Americans in America, gave a stinging answer to China also, S Jaishankar stopped talking with his/her answers like this

New Delhi: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar left people speechless in America with his/her answers. Explained the true meaning of what diplomacy is. S Jaishankar did not even leave America. America’s think tank Carnegie Endowment for International Peace was asked a question related to American leaders about India’s democracy. Responding to this question, S Jaishankar told Americans that they should not feel bad when India reacts to his/her comments on its internal matters.

America should not mind, it has full right to comment
S Jaishankar said that if you look at the level of two countries, two governments, we think it is important that there is mutual respect for democracy. It cannot be that one democracy has the right to comment on another and this is part of promoting democracy at the global level, but when others do so then it becomes foreign interference. Foreign interference is foreign interference, no matter who does it and where it happens. S Jaishankar said that you have full right to comment, but I have full right to comment on your comment.

So don’t feel bad when I do this. The Foreign Minister said that America and India are among the leading countries in the world which have democratic governance systems. Here in America, many issues are debated in our democracy, but many times American leaders make comments about India’s democracy. he/she said that the world has become very globalized and as a result the politics of any country does not necessarily remain within that country’s national boundaries.

There is a long story with China
Answering a question related to China in the same program, S Jaishankar said that our relations with China have a long story, but in short, we had agreements to maintain peace and stability on the border, China has violated those. Agreements have been violated. Since our forces are deployed on the front lines, tension is being created. Unless frontline deployments are resolved, tensions will continue.

he/she said that if the tension continues, it will affect other relationships as well. This is the reason why our relations have not been good for the last four years. The minister was asked about tensions with China as well as China leaving every country behind in trade relations with India. Jaishankar said when it comes to trade, globally China’s share in global manufacturing is about 31-32 per cent. This has happened because, for many decades, international business (which is predominantly Western-led) has chosen to cooperate with China for mutual benefit.

Will there be a solution to the Russia-Ukraine war?
On the Russia-Ukraine war, S Jaishankar said that India believes that differences or disputes between countries cannot be resolved by war. We do not think that any decisive outcome will emerge from the battlefield. he/she said that India has started talks in this matter. There was a recent meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Jaishankar said that we are working very thoughtfully and carefully. We are not exaggerating this.

Our endeavor is to keep the dialogue going, to convey the views of both the parties to each other and to work honestly. This war has entered its third year and today there are very few countries in the world that can go to these two countries, talk to both the leaders and then go back to each other and take the talks forward.
