French Governor General Martin wrote in his/her diary that he/she was cheated by people close to him/her. Operation was secretly performed and all operations were planned very carefully. There was a conflict between the Marathas and the enemy army. The number of Marathas decreased. Despite his/her best efforts, the Maratha was unable to withdraw the enemy’s attack. The enemies caught Sambhaji Maharaj and the poet Kalash present with him/her alive.

In 1689, the Mughals fraudulently took Sambhaji Maharaj captive and were presented before Aurangzeb. Mughal Sardar Mukrab Khan killed all the chieftains of Sambhaji, Sambhaji was taken to Bahadurgarh with his/her advisory poet Kalash. Seeing Sambhaji, Aurangzeb could not believe, and he/she sat on the ground and started remembering his/her Allah. As soon as he/she seated the poet Kalash said-
“The Ravi image which is the only Khaidot, is bad,
Tyo tuva tej nihari te takhat tajyo Avrang. ,
This means that the way the light of the fire is destroyed by seeing the light of the sun, in the same way this king has left his/her throne and has come before you. Knowing the meaning of this couplet, Aurangzeb became enraged and ordered that the poet cut the tongue of Kalash. At the same time, he/she proposed in front of Sambhaji that he/she should confess all the forts to the Mughals and confess Islam. This will give their life spared. However, Sambhaji refused and accepted to die.

Shivaji’s army did not have artillery till that time, so these warriors used fencing and small weapons. The Mughal army became completely helpless, plagued by the guerrilla war style.
