A teenager disappeared from a forest path while returning home from school. Her body was found two days later. She was raped and strangled. In 2021, woodcutter Anil Kumar was found guilty in this case and sentenced to life imprisonment. In April 2018, the CBI told the story behind solving this case. Apart from this, this team also got the culprit punished in the 2017 Unnao rape case. BJP leader and local MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was sentenced to life imprisonment for gang raping a 17-year-old Dalit girl. he/she was later expelled from the party. he/she was also found guilty in the case of the death of the victim’s father in judicial custody and was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.

Has also done investigation in Hathras case

The Hathras incident of 2020 made headlines across the country. In this case, four people of the so-called upper caste were accused of assaulting and gang-raping a 19-year-old girl. She died 15 days after the incident at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The anger in this case flared up further when the body of the girl was cremated by the Uttar Pradesh Police and administration without the consent and presence of her family. Three of the four accused in this case have been acquitted. The fourth accused Sandeep Thakur was found guilty of attempted murder and culpable homicide, not rape or murder.

The court had given its verdict based on the discrepancy in the victim’s statement and forensic evidence. The police claimed that there was no evidence of rape and the woman died due to neck injury. The state police was accused of major lapses at every stage of the case. First there was a delay in filing the FIR, then rape was denied and the body was hastily cremated. In view of the public anger, on 3 October 2020, the state government suspended five police officers including the SP.
