New Delhi : In Maharashtra’s Nashik, an old man was beaten up badly on suspicion of carrying beef in a train. In Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district, a cow protection group beat a migrant to death on suspicion of eating beef. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reacted to both the incidents on Sunday. Rahul Gandhi held the BJP responsible in this case. Rahul Gandhi said that in the BJP’s rule, miscreants have been given a free hand. Also, the government machinery is a silent spectator to the attacks on minorities.

Challenge to the rule of law… open violence

Rahul wrote in a tweet that those who have climbed the ladder of power by using hatred as a political weapon are continuously establishing a reign of fear in the country. The hateful elements hiding in the form of the mob are openly spreading violence, challenging the rule of law. These miscreants have got a free hand from the BJP government, that is why they have developed the courage to do so. Continuous attacks are being carried out on minorities, especially Muslims, and the government machinery is watching as a mute spectator.

We will not tolerate attacks on the Constitution

The Congress leader further said that the law should be upheld by taking the strictest action against such anarchist elements. he/she said that any attack on the communal unity of India and the rights of Indians is an attack on the Constitution, which we will not tolerate at all. The Leader of Opposition said that no matter how much effort the BJP makes – we will win this historic battle to unite India against hatred at any cost.

Beaten to death on suspicion of eating beef

A migrant man was allegedly beaten to death by a cow protection group in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district on suspicion of eating beef. However, the police arrested five people in this case. The deceased lived in a slum near Bandra village in Charkhi Dadri district and worked as a scrap picker for a living. Meanwhile, an elderly man was allegedly beaten up by his/her co-passengers on suspicion of carrying beef in an express train near Igatpuri in Maharashtra’s Nashik district.
