Due to the election process in Haryana, the government forgot the process of state award. While this process is completed every year. Applications for this were being sought for a long time. About 100 teachers from Gurugram alone had applied, after which the list was to be finalized through scrutiny. District Education Officer Indu Bokan says that ‘No notification has been issued regarding this yet. Only applications were sought, after which there is no update regarding the further process.’

Teachers’ Award program is organized in Haryana every year on Teachers’ Day on 5 September. The Governor honours the teachers. Every year the Governor gives awards to 40 to 45 teachers of the state for their excellent work in the field of education. All teachers from primary to secondary level are included in this.

What do the Haryana Teacher Award winners get?

On receiving a state level award, a teacher gets two increments and also gets an extension of service by two years. Apart from a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a gold medal and a citation, he/she also gets the benefit of Shikshak Samman in the transfer policy.

A teacher will get national award

Charu Maini, Principal of DAV School from Gurugram Sector-49 has been selected for the National Teacher Award. After four years, a teacher from Gurugram will once again be honored with the President’s Award. Earlier in the year 2020, Government School teacher Manoj Kumar Lakra received the award. This award will be given at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi on Teacher’s Day.
