Chandigarh/Panchkula: A new dispute has started between Chandigarh and Haryana regarding the Chandigarh administration not giving admission to the children of Panchkula in schools. Punjab is already opposing the Chandigarh decision. Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta on Monday wrote a letter to the Administrator of Chandigarh and the Governor of Punjab, appealing for a decision in this matter.
Children of Panchkula and Mohali are not being given admission in the schools of Chandigarh administration during nursery admission this year. The capital of Haryana and Punjab is Chandigarh. Apart from this, Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula have been identified as tricity. The phone STD code of all three cities is also the same. Apart from this, the three cities are interconnected in every respect.
Chandigarh administration has refused to admit the children of Panchkula for the educational session 2024-25. Due to which people are getting worried. On Monday, Haryana Assembly Speaker and Panchkula MLA Gyan Chand Gupta wrote a letter to Chandigarh administration Banwari Lal Purohit objecting to the notification of the Education Department.
Legislative Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that this decision of the Chandigarh Education Department is completely contrary to the right to education. The right to education should not be divided among regions. This will violate the right to education of the children of Panchkula and Mohali. Citing the National Education Policy, he said that PM Narendra Modi is implementing an education policy in the entire country. This decision of Chandigarh Education Department is also contrary to this initiative of the Prime Minister. He wrote in the letter that Panchkula, Chandigarh and Mohali are, in a way, state capital regions.
