Hardik Pandya jumps in rankings, Arshdeep joins top 10


Dubai. ICC gave good news to star bowler Arshdeep Singh before the three-match T20 series being played between India and Bangladesh. Due to consistent good performance, India’s fast bowlers managed to make it to the top 10 in the ICC T20 rankings released on Wednesday. Arshdeep Singh has made it to eighth position.

Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep took three wickets for 14 runs in the first T20 match against Bangladesh in Gwalior last Sunday. he/she jumped eight places to eighth position with 642 rating points. he/she is the only Indian bowler included in the top 10. England’s Adil Rashid remains the top-ranked bowler in the shortest format. Akil Hussain of West Indies is in second place and Rashid Khan of Afghanistan is in third place.

ICC said on its website, “Arshdeep has also benefited a lot in the latest ranking update. This left-arm fast bowler has jumped eight places in the updated list of T20 bowlers. Has achieved the highest rating of his/her career after taking three wickets against Bangladesh.

Hardik Pandya, who played an unbeaten inning of 39 runs with the help of five fours and two sixes in 16 balls against Bangladesh, climbed 7 places to reach 60th position in the list of batsmen. This top Indian all-rounder also took one wicket for 26 runs and moved up four places to the third position in the list of all-rounders.

England’s Liam Livingstone tops the list of all-rounders and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airi is in second place. India’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped one place to fifth position in the list of batsmen. he/she was left behind by Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Jaiswal is not part of the Indian team for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Washington Sundar has also improved his/her ranking and has moved up four places to 35th in the list of T20 bowlers.
