New Delhi. Shreyas Iyer gave Team India a bang win by playing a brilliant innings against England. When the team was in trouble, Shreyas took the Indian innings at number four and handled the Indian innings. he/she supported Team India’s drowning Naiya by hitting half a century off 30 balls. he/she carried the innings forward with Shubman Gill. Seeing this innings, Australian veteran Ricky Ponting has said that he/she is surprised when such a batsman is struggling with his/her place in the team. Shreyas has failed to make his/her permanent place in the Limited Over team in Team India. Ponting said that he/she has the ability to dominate spinners on his/her magnificent form and slow pitches of subcontinent.

Shreyas Iyer was one of the players who played an important role in India’s victory in the 50 -over World Cup in 2023. The middle -order batsman scored 530 runs and became the seventh highest run -scorer in the global event. he/she gave proof of his/her ability in this format by scoring 59 off 36 balls in the first ODI against England in Nagpur on Thursday.
