Haldwani violence: Notice of Rs 2.44 crore to accused Abdul Malik, curfew continues in Banbhulpura for the sixth day

Haldwani: Now action has started in the case of violence that broke out in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on Thursday evening. The process of arresting the accused is continuing. On February 8, employees were attacked while removing encroachment in Banbhulpura, Haldwani. Curfew was imposed in Banbhulpura after this case. There was curfew like situation in Haldwani area also on Friday and Saturday. However, relief was given in curfew recently. Now curfew has been imposed only in Vanbhulpura area. At the same time, the search for the accused is continuing. Six special teams have been formed to arrest the main accused and mastermind of Banbhulpura violence, Abdul Malik. At the same time, a notice has been issued to Abdul Malik to recover Rs 2.44 crore to compensate for the loss caused in the Vanbhoolpura violence. Orders have been given to deposit the amount by 15th February.

Municipal Corporation has issued notice

It has been decided to recover the loss caused during the violence from Abdul Malik, the mastermind of the Banbhulpura incident. The Municipal Corporation has issued a recovery notice of Rs 2 crore 44 lakh to Abdul Malik regarding the loss of government property during the violence. Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay issued this notice on Monday. Malik has been given time till February 15 to deposit the recovery amount. It has been said in the notice that due to the violence and conflict that took place during the removal of encroachment in the garden area of ​​the owner of Banbhulpura, there has been huge damage to the properties of the Municipal Corporation. Municipal Corporation tractors and jeeps present at the spot as well as loader vehicles were set on fire.

To recover this, the Municipal Corporation has issued a notice to Abdul Malik, who has been described by the police as the mastermind of the disturbance. In the preliminary assessment, the Municipal Corporation has estimated the loss of its property at Rs 2 crore 44 lakh. Abdul Malik has been warned of legal action if the amount is not deposited by the stipulated deadline of 15th February. According to the notice, Municipal Corporation’s loader vehicles, tractors, garbage carts, Boleros and utility vehicles have been damaged. The notice has been issued by the Municipal Commissioner after assessing the damage.

Ban on people leaving their homes

In Banbhulpura area, people are still banned from leaving their homes. The curfew area in Haldwani city was reduced by Nainital DM Vandana Singh. Since then schools and educational institutions have opened in the city. However, the atmosphere is still heated in Banbhulpura. Curfew has been imposed in the area. Internet services have been kept closed. Recently, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced in Haridwar that a police station will now be constructed in the Malik Ka Bagicha area which has been freed from encroachment. Meanwhile, amid the curfew situation, the operation to nab the accused is continuing. The accused of the disturbance are being identified through CCTV and mobile videos.

Now 1700 soldiers deployed in Haldwani

Security has been increased after the incident of disturbance in Haldwani on February 8. With the arrival of paramilitary forces, the duty roster of police personnel has now been reduced to 8 hours each. After the arrival of additional ITBP and SP companies on Sunday, the number of soldiers in the search operation teams in Banbhulpura has also been increased. After the violence that broke out on February 8, two ITBP companies were deployed in Banbhulpura on February 9. After this, about 1100 security forces were deployed. At the same time, now PAC and ITBP personnel have been included in the search operation being conducted in the area. Also, soldiers were put on duty at different places in the area to keep the situation under control.

On Sunday evening, three companies ITBP and SSB also reached Haldwani. Now the number of soldiers deployed here has increased to 1700. City Magistrate Richa Singh has said that the duty of paramilitary forces will be for 8 hours. Besides, paramilitary forces are also being deputed along with the police in the search and arrest operations being conducted in the area.
