H3N2 in India: The risk of H3N2 influenza is increasing in India. After Haryana and Karnataka, now the patient’s death has been reported in Gujarat. According to information, a 58-year-old woman has died in Vadodara, Gujarat due to this virus. Samples will be sent to Pune lab for testing. This virus is a mutated virus of swine flu, due to which 3 people have lost their lives in the country so far.
Meanwhile, there is news from the capital Delhi that patients have started increasing in the ICU of the hospitals here. According to the report, hospitals in Delhi reportedly saw a rise in the number of H3N2 influenza patients being admitted to ICUs. Most of them are sick and above 75 years of age. Doctors have advised people in Delhi to wear masks as the virus is expected to cause severe flu with prolonged symptoms.
Request to open medical college from charity hospitals
Meanwhile, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has urged reputed charity hospitals across the country to set up their own medical colleges to provide affordable medical education to students. Mandaviya recently held a meeting with around 62 renowned charity hospitals which have not opened their own institute for imparting medical education.
Hospitals like Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Amritaben Hospital and Anandamayi Hospital participated in the meeting. Mandaviya said, we have urged these famous hospitals to open medical colleges.
