New Delhi: Pakistan High Commission has issued visas to more than 3000 Sikh pilgrims from India. Pakistan High Commission has given this information by posting on social media handle X. These devotees will participate in the grand celebrations to be held in Pakistan on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. This ceremony will run from 14 to 23 November 2024. Guru Nanak Jayanti is the most important festival of the Sikh community. This year, Guru Nanak Jayanti will be celebrated on November 15. On this occasion, Ambassador-in-Charge Saad Ahmed Waraich has expressed happiness and also wished the pilgrims a successful journey. Many devotees are facing problems due to the advice given by the Pakistani government to bring American dollars with them. On the other hand, there is no clarification from the Indian government regarding how many visas have actually been issued by Pakistan.

Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Kartik month to commemorate the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. This year Guru Nanak Jayanti will be celebrated on Friday, 15 November. Indian Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan will visit Dera Sahib, Panja Sahib, Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib.

Earlier more than 1000 visas were rejected

Earlier, the Pakistan High Commission had refused visas to 1,481 out of 2,244 Sikh pilgrims who had applied for the pilgrimage to Nankana Sahib. Chairman of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Harjinder Singh Dhami said the rejection of such a large number of visas is extremely sad and has hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikhs. Now Pakistan has issued visas for 3000 applicants.
