Ahmedabad: A major road accident has come to light in Panchmahal district of Gujarat. A bus was stopped due to technical fault on Ahmedabad-Indore Expressway. Another bus coming from behind hit the bus from behind and then it became unbalanced and went down. Four passengers died in the incident, while 11 other passengers were injured. Panchmahal district police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and started rescue operations and admitted the injured to hospitals. The incident took place near Godhra on the Ahmedabad-Indore Expressway. The accident happened near Garh village of Godhra.
Two children included among the deadA total of four died when a bus parked on the expressway collided with another bus. These also include two children. Godhra Sub-Divisional Magistrate Praveen Singh Jaitawat said that the accident took place around 3.30 am on the Dahod-Godhra highway. When a bus going to Indore was stopped on the roadside due to technical problem and it was being repaired. He said that the driver of another luxury bus coming from Dahod could not see the bus parked ahead and hit the parked bus with his vehicle. Four passengers, including two women and two children, died in the accident.
Two injured referred to Vadodara
11 other passengers were injured in the incident. Nine of them are being treated at a government hospital in Godhra, while two others who were seriously injured have been referred to Vadodara for medical attention, the official said. He has been admitted to SSG Hospital in Vadodara for better treatment. On the other hand, the luxury bus was taken out with the help of JCB on the expressway. In the accident, the rear part of the first bus and the front part of the second bus were completely damaged. (input language)
