Guest teachers will not be able to do CBSE exam duty, new decision of Delhi government will cause big loss!

Delhi School Teacher Latest News: Guest teachers of Delhi government schools will no longer be required to perform CBSE and election duty. Regarding this, the Directorate of Education has issued a circular saying that ‘Guest teachers have been appointed temporarily on the vacant posts of teachers in schools and their tenure is also not fixed. For this reason, they should be kept away from long tenure or special duties like elections and CBSE related tasks. On the other hand, guest teachers have expressed strong objection and demanded withdrawal of the decision.

Why is the teacher angry?

On behalf of All India Guest Teachers Association, it has been said that this decision is going to demoralize the guest teachers. Firstly, elections or CBSE duties do not last long. Second- In Delhi, the duty of guest teachers is not even imposed during elections. Guest teachers perform duty in CBSE examinations and also check copies, for which they also get honorarium.

The association says that guest teachers have been working at the same salary for 8 years. Despite the promise, his/her salary has not increased by a single rupee. Instead of paying attention to this, the government is humiliating them further.

Demand to increase the salary of guest teacher also

Opposing this decision, Ajayveer Yadav, General Secretary of Government Schools Teachers Association, says, ‘For many years, amidst the huge shortage of teachers in government schools, guest teachers have taken up every complex responsibility of the school premises. Has played a commendable role even in Covid duty. But the Directorate of Education is removing him/her from CBSE duty with its order. We demand immediate withdrawal of this order and also increase the salaries of guest teachers.

What is the argument of the Directorate of Education?

The Directorate of Education says that guest teachers have been kept in schools so that they can bridge the learning gap in the absence of regular teachers. It also said that some government policies also prevent temporary employees from performing administrative or examination-related duties such as election work or CBSE duties. These duties generally require permanent, full-time government employees. For these reasons, guest teachers should be separated from elections and CBSE duties. Because their primary job is to teach and bridge the learning gap.
