NMMS- National Means cum Merit Scholarship Exam
This scheme is to help the smart students of economically weaker sections. Students who are currently studying in class IX are awarded scholarships annually to encourage them to continue their studies at the secondary level. To apply in this, it is necessary that the total annual income of the family of the students should be less than Rs 1.50 lakh.
- Eligibility – 55% marks in class 7th and 8th
- Scholarship – Rs 12,000 per annum

NTSE – National Talent Search Exam
It is conducted by NCERT i.e. National Council of Educational Research and Training. Students studying in 10th standard in any recognized school can apply for this scholarship.
The examination is held at two levels- State level and All India level.
- Qualification – Students studying in 10th class
- Scholarship – Rs 1250 per month
- Application Deadline – August to September
- Application Mode- Application through the Liaison Officer of the concerned State or Union Territory

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship
This merit based scholarship is for such girl students who are single girl child. It aims to strengthen the efforts of parents who promote girls’ education. Such girl students who are studying class 11th or 12th in a CBSE affiliated school and whose tuition fee does not exceed ₹ 1,500 per month during the academic year, can apply for this scheme.
- Eligibility- 60% marks in class 10th examination from CBSE board
- Scholarship- Rs.500 per month for two years (during 11th and 12th).

Pre Matric Scholarship for Minorities
Organized by the Ministry of Minorities, Government of India, the purpose of this scholarship is to give voice to the talent of minority students and to raise the level of education. For this scholarship, students must have at least 50% marks in the annual examination of the previous class. Also, the annual family income should be Rs 1 lakh or less.

Pre-Matric Scholarship
This scholarship is given by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Its objective is to provide assistance to the differently-abled studying in class 9th or 10th. One thing is to be noted that the benefit of this scholarship will be available only to those students who are 40 percent or more disabled. There is one more condition for the scholarship – annual family income should be Rs 2.50 lakh or less. Under this, eligible students will get Maintenance Allowance, Disability Allowance and Book Grant.
