New Delhi: The government has become more active to deal with the growing problem of drug smuggling in the country and its effects on national security. On Saturday, a regional conference was organized in Delhi by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on drug smuggling and national security. Is being done. Drugs worth crores of rupees will be destroyed

In the information given by the Home Ministry, it has been said that in the fortnight from January 11 to January 25, 44,792 kg of drugs worth Rs 2,411 crore seized through various means will also be destroyed by burning and other means. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India has adopted a zero tolerance policy against drug smuggling. A target has been set to make the country drug free by 2047. Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Chief Ministers and senior officials of all other concerned agencies of the eight states participating in the conference will also participate. On this occasion, the new office of Bhopal Zonal Unit of NCB will also be inaugurated and the expansion of MANAS-2 helpline connected to all the states and union territories will also be inaugurated.

Discussion will be held on ‘MANAS’ portal

The conference also discussed the real-time information sharing from the National Narcotics Helpline ‘MANAS’ portal with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the States and Union Territories and the progress of the States against drug trafficking and the effectiveness of the Mechanism on Narcotics Coordination (NCORD). Will be done. Also discussions were held on strengthening the functionality of state forensic science laboratories and increasing their effectiveness, setting up of special NDPS courts for speedy disposal of drug related cases and better coordination among all agencies to combat drug trafficking and drug abuse.
