New Delhi : The government has taken several steps to increase cyber security. Department of Telecommunications i.e. DoT has notified Telecom Cyber Security Rules. Under these rules, the Central Government can demand traffic data or any other kind of data from any telecom company through any of its agencies. This data can be any other data other than the content of the message, which can be sought in a particular format. After this, the government can ask to establish necessary infrastructure and equipment for the storage of such data, so that its processing and storage can be strengthened.

Efforts to strengthen cyber security

According to the rules, the government or the agency authorized to collect data or the people with whom such data is shared will have the responsibility to store it confidentially.
