Karnataka Election 2023: Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader and former MP, has begun campaigning for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections. On April 17, he addressed a rally in Bidar district of Karnataka, where he expressed his concerns regarding the BJP and RSS’s impact on democracy. Gandhi also promised the people that the promises made by the Chief Minister, whoever it may be, will be fulfilled on the first day of their tenure.
Gandhi criticized PM Modi, stating that he does not care about the welfare of OBCs, and suggested that the cap on reservations should be removed. He also spoke about the caste census, which was conducted in 2011 during the UPA government, but the report was not released by the Modi government. Gandhi called for the report to be made public.
While appealing to the public to vote for Congress, Gandhi asked for 150 seats in the Karnataka assembly elections. He also made it clear that Congress does not make false promises, as the party does not promise to billionaires, unlike the BJP.
Gandhi criticized PM Modi’s relationship with industrialist Gautam Adani and suggested that the entire country’s money has been given to one person. He also mentioned that the PM had promised to deposit 15 lakhs into every citizen’s account, which was a false promise.
Gandhi discussed the issue of corruption and stated that the PM did not respond to a letter written by the Contractors Association regarding 40% commission being taken in Karnataka. He also highlighted a corruption scandal in Mysore Sandal Soap Corporation, a job scam, and the MLA’s son being caught with Rs. 8 crore. Gandhi urged the public to not vote for parties that engage in corruption and to give only 40 seats to those with 40% commission.
